Thats right! The LS1 RX7 is officially STREET LEGAL. Matt recently brought the RX7 over to the State Referee for inspection. After 30 nerve wrenching minutes, the RX7 passed visual inspection and after an emissions check, the RX7 was passed by BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair), no more worries about getting pulled and getting his hood popped. Some pictures from the State Ref will be up soon.

Since when were you able to legally BAR a motor from a different manufacturer? Btw, the CHP can still get you to pop your hood. They can still send you to the Ref if they believe you have removed/modified emissions equipment.

Comment by C2Photos — March 10, 2010 @ 1:27 pmI’m looking to do this swap to my FD as well but was thinking LS2. What is the deal with cat converters? For an LS2 GTO, I believe there are 4. I think the packaging on an FD is too tight to fit them. I also believe the LS2 C6 has only two right off the exhaust manifolds, I think they may fit… if you guys would care to share some info on how you set everything up, I’m all ears.
